Housing an extensive range of about 56,000 SKUs of merchandise in books, music, stationery, toys and gifts, the brief for the design was to cerate a store where shoppers could interact with the store offerings in the many experiential zones. The store also had to be modular and flexible to support an exciting marketing calendar.

The store front has bold back-lit signage with two flanking windows to display communication graphics. The store layout is spread across one level with a double height ceiling giving a very substantial volumetric space. A combination spine / racetrack circulation helps move shoppers around and deep within the store. The music and movies section is situated next to the entrance and the café to set the tempo. The store is laid out to create multiple zones by merchandise with well though out service enhancers punctuating the circulation flow to optimize customer convenience. The carpeted books department is tucked deeper into the store to ensure a quieter reading atmosphere while a unique activity area for kids allowing for a transition form the kids books section to the toys department. Clear and bold signage from the ceiling and above merchandising fixtures help the shopper navigate the store across departments and also across different categories of merchandise. Experience enhancers, like a Karaoke station and a multi-level reading bar, punctuate the store to create unique experiences.

Store fixtures are a balanced mix of metal and timber with metal creating an effective medium-high density workhorse base. Timber fixtures, finished in warm wood textures, help create merchandise highlight points as stand alone recommend tables and also as end cap add-ons.

Lighting is a careful mix of CDMT and fluorescent lights with an emphasis an accent lighting to create dramatic highlights in the presentation. Pendant type tracks and fluted polycarbonate dome fixtures are used in open ceiling area to create an open and fun feel.
