Responding to market conditions; competition, customer expectations and own company requirements, an opportunity had been identified to evolve Walter Mart Supermarket current market position, brand and design position in the market place to create a growth platform for mid-market family supermarket format.

Core to the assignment was to reevaluate the current category definition, merchandise assortment, adjacencies and all aspects of retail planning and design.

All initiatives combine to create an exciting and recognizable mid-market supermarket retail format that establishes a focused position as the destination of choice for an everyday supermarket format and keeps the retail brand front of mind.

Building on our relationship with walter mart since 2009, rkd retail/iQ was responsible for the retail strategy and all creative expressions including brand + environmental graphic programs, retail planning + design and construction documentation by developing an implementation methodology that synergizes resources, reduces costs and eases replication & flexibility of the format going forward.
