For its first freestanding store, the high-end furniture seller SB Design Square wound up in a space in Phuket with a long frontage on the adjoining street, but a relatively shallow depth. To make the best use of that rectangular footprint, designers from rkd retail/iQ created an open, atrium-like space at the center of the store, surrounded by a "racetrack" aisle pattern. To entice shoppers into exploring all corners of the three-level space, end-of-aisle focal walls were installed. White flooring and vertical surfaces provides a neutral backdrop for the colorful merchandise displays, which include a variety of room vignettes.  |
