Located alongside luxury brands such as Hermes and Chanel in The Shoppes at the Four Seasons in Macau, DFS Wine & Cigars offers consumable luxury items to a discerning audience. Owners DFS Asia Group entrusted rkd retail/iQ with the design of the shop. What was needed was a space that would reflect the best-in-class merchandise assortment of wine, champagne, port, and cigars, while immersing customers in an experience consistent with the fine products.

The designers sought to create a contemporary interpretation of a vineyard cave and tasting salon. Natural oak and limestone surround the shopper and, combined with the multiple layers of lighting, create a rich, sculptural environment.
A wide range of presentations reflect the variety of choice and maintains visual interest. Products–singly, in boxes and displayed label out–are included in every sightline. Even the light fixtures hanging from the ceiling each hold a bottle of wine. Artfully arranged floor displays, built around minimalist tables and wooden wine cases, invite shoppers to explore the entire space. Separate, climate-controlled specialty rooms assure that all wines and cigars are stored in the proper conditions–and add to the variety of presentation. |
